About The Position

Stratolaunch is seeking a Sr. Mechanical/Structural Engineer to support development of an air-launched hypersonic flight vehicle. The role includes conceptualizing, sizing, and analyzing components; generating CAD parts and assemblies; creating margin reports; completing detailed design; and supporting manufacturing. The engineer will also support the Talon-A structures lead with team guidance and mentorship, contribute to the vehicle’s structural technical performance, meet design and mission requirements, resolve technical challenges, and implement technology upgrades to improve the Talon-A hypersonic vehicle architecture. The position leads an integrated product team and makes technical decisions for the structures subsystem. It supports structural development and payload integration, leads structural design reviews through manufacturing and flight test, and applies a structural systems engineering approach. The role is based onsite in Mojave, California, follows a 9/80 schedule, and may require travel estimated at less than 5% to support the department. The position may involve operating company vehicles as part of assigned duties.
