About The Position

The Mechanical Engineer is an individual contributor responsible for the mechanical design and analysis of assigned deliverables for CB&I projects including specific complex deliverables such as rotating equipment, mechanical handling packages, fire suppression packages, active firewater system designs, and piping engineering. Work includes, among other things, conceptual studies, cost and planning studies, layouts, design calculations, specification development, requisitioning and managing vendor packages for equipment and mechanical systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working in engineering
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or in a related field from an accredited school is required.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills
• Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing mechanical systems and products
• Excellent math skills: ability to apply advanced mathematical principles and statistics to solve problems
• Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar

Nice To Haves

• Experience using hydraulic analysis software such as AFT Fathom or Pipenet is preferred
• Experience specifying and requisitioning equipment such as pumps, elevators and fire suppression systems is preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering calculations to support design work
• Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with vendors and contractors
• Ensure project timeline is met and project stays within budget
• Maintains and promotes a focus on CB&I’s product whether engineering, fabrication or construction.
