About The Position

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will become a member of the Keurig Dr. Pepper Appliance organization and contribute to the development of next-generation Keurig brewers as part of cross-functional teams. This individual will lead mechanical design activities that are essential to both new and existing appliance development. The role offers significant influence and impact on current and future products, providing excellent visibility and growth opportunities within the organization. Although this position does not entail direct supervision, the Senior Design Engineer will be responsible for instructing, guiding, and reviewing the work of other design engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Master’s preferred
  • 5+ years of professional experience in a relevant industry
  • Practical experience designing complex kinematic mechanisms
  • Practical experience using mechanical engineering theory to drive learning.
  • Advanced 3D Modeling and Drafting preferably using SolidWorks
  • Track record of developing electro-mechanical products from concept through mass production
  • Experience using data to drive trade-off decisions and a solid of understanding design limits
  • Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly principles and best practices
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to present technologies and status of development projects to management and stakeholders
  • Experience creating component and sub-system tolerance analysis to understand the impact of system variation on performance.

Nice To Haves

  • Designing high volume injection molding components and a basic understanding of injection mold tooling principals.
  • Using simulation to improve confidence in your design and reduce time to market including structural and fluid flow.
  • Design for Six Sigma practices including, Root Cause Analysis, 8D, A3, Design of Experiments, etc.
  • Formal GD&T Training

Responsibilities

  • Quickly get up to speed with new technologies and products.
  • Perform complex activities related to design, testing and evaluation of electro-mechanical systems.
  • Create 3D CAD designs, specifications, drawings and perform tolerance analyses.
  • Perform structural simulations of new mechanical designs.
  • Provide direction and mentorship for peers and colleagues.
  • Partner with a cross-functional global team of technical, business and manufacturing subject matter experts
  • Identify and address knowledge gaps.
  • Comply with all KDP policies and procedures.
