The purpose of this job is to perform mechanical fleet maintenance services for company trucks and trailers from a physical shop location or designated mobile unit. This role involves completing preventive and routine maintenance, preparing trucks for inspection, obtaining parts, responding to maintenance service calls, diagnosing and repairing vehicle malfunctions, documenting work performed, and maintaining service trucks and shop areas. The mechanic will also perform tire services, including roadside assistance, and conduct various maintenance tasks such as oil changes, cooling system services, wheel end work, HVAC diagnosis and repair, belt and hose replacement, electrical system diagnosis and repair, drivetrain repairs, exhaust repairs, suspension work, and diagnosing/repairing PTO-driven hydraulic pump systems. Additionally, the role requires diagnosing, troubleshooting, and performing repairs using diagnostic software and tools for engine, anti-lock braking, overfill prevention, after-treatment, and drivetrain components. Repairs or tasks related to earned Automobile Service Excellence (ASE) certification are also part of the responsibilities.
