This role performs a variety of routine warehouse functions in a typical GMP warehouse. Responsibilities include material handling, shipping, receiving, kitting, staging, replenishment, waste disposal and/or recycling prep, excess/expired disposal and/or recycling prep, cycle counting, and transportation between sites using a box truck. The position involves performing normal warehousing functions such as receiving, handling, storing, issuing, and delivering customer orders, operating narrow aisle swing-lift, forklifts, and other material handling equipment, and preparing inbounds and outbounds from the distribution center to all Kindeva St. Louis warehouses. The Sr. Material Handler and Driver will also assume leadership responsibilities assigned by the supervisor, serve as a subject matter expert (SME) within the department, and contribute to team problem-solving efforts. This role collaborates with other departments like supply chain, QCD, MQA, and other facilities to resolve shortages and issues. The position requires operation of a swing reach lift for narrow aisle picking, which includes using fall protection systems with retractable tethers and advanced visibility features. Responsibilities also include production picking and staging, generating/reviewing transfer orders, performing routine sample transfers, coordinating material movement on loading docks, and maintaining inventories of shipping, receiving, and material handling supplies. The role involves operating Power Industrial Vehicles and potentially serving as an on-site Forklift Trainer. Hazardous waste duties include handling, preparing for shipment, and loading hazardous waste onto transport units.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 3+ years of prior warehouse operator experience and/or training (in a GMP or other regulated manufacturing or distribution work environment preferred).
  • Demonstrated related job experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, transportation, picking, kitting, staging and cycle counting.
  • Prior forklift certification and demonstrated ability to safely operate either standup or sit-down style lift.
  • The ability to become forklift certified within first 30 days of employment.
  • Must have a Class A, B or C (CDL) and HAZMAT certification with 2 + years driving experience.
  • Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screening and job fitness physical.
  • Must be able to pass and maintain controlled substance clearance once employed.

Responsibilities

  • Transportation between sites using a box truck.
  • Performing normal warehousing functions (receiving, handling, storing, issuing, and delivering customer orders, operating narrow aisle swing-lift, forklifts and other material handling equipment and preparing inbounds, outbounds from the distribution center to all Kindeva St. Louis warehouses.
  • Assume leadership responsibilities assigned by the supervisor and serves as a SME (subject matter expert) within the department and contributes to team problem solving efforts.
  • Works with other departments to drive resolution to shortages/issues i.e. supply chain, QCD, MQA, and other facilities.
  • Operation of swing reach lift for narrow aisle picking that consist of but not limited to, fall protection systems with retractable tethers, and advanced visibility features to minimize risks during operation in narrow warehouse aisles.
  • Perform production picking and staging at main warehouse site; generate/review all manual and system generated transfer orders to fulfill production demands to downstream sites.
  • Perform responsibilities of routine sample transfer across downstream sites.
  • Responsible for material handling support to meet customer needs within assigned building.
  • Coordinates material movement on loading docks to coincide with production, supply chain, and plant engineering schedules.
  • Maintains inventories of shipping, receiving, and material handling supplies necessary for the conduct of daily routines.
  • Operates Power Industrial Vehicles.
  • As trained and certified, may serve as on-site Forklift Trainer for other forklift operators.
  • Hazardous Waste Duties including handling or generating hazardous waste, preparing hazardous waste for shipment and/or loading hazardous waste onto transport units.
