About The Position

The Senior Master Production Scheduler is responsible for leading the development, coordination, and execution of the master production schedule for a high-volume precision manufacturing facility specializing in screw machine operations. This senior-level role provides strategic oversight of production planning activities to ensure alignment between customer demand, machine capacity, labor availability, tooling readiness, and material supply while driving operational efficiency, inventory optimization, and on-time delivery performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive production scheduling and planning experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Strong background in ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing planning processes required.
  • Advanced understanding of production scheduling, capacity planning, and inventory control.
  • Strong knowledge of screw machine operations, tooling constraints, setup sequencing, and machine efficiencies.
  • Advanced analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Ability to make strategic decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a screw machine or precision machining environment strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting Davenport, Acme, CNC, multi-spindle, or secondary operations preferred.
  • Prior leadership, mentoring, or project management experience preferred.
  • APICS CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management)
  • APICS CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional)
  • Lean Manufacturing Certification
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or higher preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead and maintain the facility’s master production schedule based on customer demand, forecasts, inventory levels, and machine capacity.
  • Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules for screw machines and secondary operations.
  • Optimize machine utilization by balancing long-run and short-run jobs while minimizing downtime and setup frequency.
  • Drive scheduling priorities based on due dates, customer requirements, operational constraints, and business objectives.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction related to production planning and scheduling activities.
  • Coordinate scheduling efforts across Operations, Engineering, Materials, Quality, Maintenance, and Customer Service.
  • Monitor production performance and proactively adjust schedules to address downtime, labor shortages, tooling concerns, or urgent customer demands.
  • Analyze capacity, labor, tooling, and inventory trends to support long-term operational planning.
  • Maintain and improve ERP/MRP scheduling accuracy and planning parameters.
  • Develop and analyze KPIs related to schedule attainment, machine utilization, inventory management, and delivery performance.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on production flow, throughput, and scheduling efficiency.
  • Mentor and support planners, schedulers, and operational teams on scheduling best practices.
