Sr. Manufacturing Engineer SME

Jabil•Memphis, TN

About The Position

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer SME leads and advances Large Form Assembly (LFA) mechanical manufacturing operations by designing, sustaining, and optimizing mechanical assembly processes. As the mechanical manufacturing subject matter expert, this role ensures structural integrity, production readiness, and process robustness through new product introduction (NPI), production ramp, and sustaining phases. The position drives design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA), PFMEA development, mechanical risk assessments, process validation, and continuous improvement to support safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. The role develops scalable, repeatable, high-quality processes for complex mechanical assemblies. It provides technical leadership and collaborates across functions to improve manufacturing efficiency, reduce risk, enhance product reliability, and support product launches and ongoing production. The engineer also mentors and serves as an escalation point for engineers, technicians, and manufacturing teams, while maintaining controlled documentation and supporting applicable engineering and manufacturing standards.
