This position acts as the single point of accountability for electric testing and commissioning engineering activities within a large geographic area (region) of the company. Directs the personnel and activities of the Testing and Commissioning organization including the planning, supervision, coordination, and monitoring of the daily and long-term strategic activities. The Manager is responsible for activities of the organization that include, but are not limited to, the following for the Transmission and Distribution substation system in their area: field testing for maintenance, installation, development and execution of commissioning plans, commissioning, and troubleshooting of newly installed or repaired power equipment, protection and control systems, and communication equipment; field engineering analysis in troubleshooting of malfunctioning equipment and systems; oversee development and implementation of procedures for maximizing equipment reliability and availability; maintaining performance driven maintenance for equipment under department control; performance and documentation of regulatory compliance obligations. Additionally, the Manager deploys resources (including contracted resources) in a manner that ensures the safe, error-free, economical, and expeditious completion of work with high regard for T&S system operational concerns, cost, budget, quality and customer satisfaction to accomplish desired results. The Manager is responsible for the budget and ensures the focus and attainment of business goals, key performance indicators, and objectives. The Manager is also responsible to oversee the training and technical development (which includes documented qualifications) for the engineers in their organization. Responsible for the continued development of the organization by overseeing committees for development of processes and procedures, qualification programs, and safety and error prevention plans. Fosters an environment that promotes safety principles and practices, environmental compliance, diversity, innovation, and high productivity. Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.
