About The Position

Drive creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives and other Lean initiatives to enable their functional area and ultimately the Fulfillment Center (FC) to meet and exceed business plan. 2. Responsible for the overall safety, quality and performance and customer experience of Inbound and Outbound operations. 3. Set and clarify requirements and expectations for Operations and Area Managers. Measure performance, provide feedback, and hold Ops Managers accountable for their performance and the performance of their departments. 4. Review and drive the key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor operations performance, business financials, and quality. 5. Leverage the Operations and Area Managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas, and rolling them into the creation of improvement plans for the functional area. 6. Hire, manage, and develop a talented, diverse, and inclusive team of operations leaders 7. Take proactive steps to ensure that best practices are shared across all departments, shifts and among the network. Work closely with support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT and other Sr. Operations Managers) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives in their area, as well as providing needed support and resources for other staff initiatives. 8. Decide and plan the headcount requirement and manage resources, including personnel & equipment, to effectively support operations activities. 9. Drive compliance to regulatory requirements and industry standards related to Safety, Operations, Quality and Environmental regulations. 10. Design and execute strategic projects like Whistlestop Peak readiness plans ahead of High-Volume Events to ensure consistent execution during high volume season. Identify and assess risks related to site business continuity and operational performance, and develop strategies to manage risks effectively. 11. Provide strategic trainings such as Lean Six Sigma, etc. to other Amazon employees across various business lines to drive continuous improvement. 12. Domestic travel up to 20% to perform role responsibilities may be required. 13. Relocation to various unanticipated amazon sites throughout the U.S. may be required - Amazon will pay relocation expenses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations or related field and five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • direct management and managing processes, projects, or programs
  • experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques
  • identifying and executing process improvement initiatives and providing customer support in a professional, non-retail environment
  • using Salesforce, SQL, Tableau, Excel, or related business management tools
  • performing human capital management, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, coaching, promotions, and terminations, as well as providing technical, non-technical, and administrative support.
