About The Position

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes. DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a(n) Sr. Manager, Legal, HCC, GCA, Security, located in Raynham, Massachusetts. The Sr. Manager, Legal, HCC, GCA, Security plays a critical role in supporting DePuy Synthes by providing strategic legal and compliance leadership across Healthcare Compliance (HCC), Global Corporate Affairs (GCA), and security‑related matters. This role partners closely with business leaders to enable compliant business growth, manage risk, and uphold ethical standards in a highly regulated environment. The position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient trust, business integrity, and organizational resilience while operating at the intersection of law, compliance, and corporate governance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law , Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Typically 6-8 years of progressive experience in legal, compliance, or regulatory roles within a regulated industry.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting healthcare compliance or corporate compliance programs.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory, legal, and ethical requirements applicable to healthcare or life sciences organizations.
  • Proven ability to partner with senior stakeholders and influence decision‑making.
  • Strong analytical, risk assessment, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • English proficiency is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal qualification is preferred.
  • Experience working in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or other life sciences sectors.
  • Exposure to global or regional compliance programs.
  • Experience supporting investigations, audits, or regulatory interactions.
  • Familiarity with corporate security, risk management, or crisis response frameworks.
  • Experience working in matrixed or global organizations.
  • Legal, compliance, or ethics certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal and compliance guidance related to healthcare compliance, corporate affairs, and security matters.
  • Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of HCC programs, policies, and controls.
  • Partner with business, compliance, and functional leaders to assess and mitigate legal and regulatory risks.
  • Advise on investigations, audits, and compliance issues, including remediation and corrective actions.
  • Support governance processes and provide legal input on corporate and external communications.
  • Collaborate with security teams on matters related to risk management, incident response, and employee safety.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and provide proactive guidance to stakeholders.
  • Promote a strong culture of ethics, compliance, and accountability aligned with the Johnson & Johnson Credo.
  • Document handling: Print, stamp/seal, mail/ship, distribute, and route documents for wet signatures.
  • Records management: Store/archive/retrieve HR documents; fulfill requests; coordinate offsite storage; scan and name for Veeva.
  • Compliance/admin: Upload/ submit filings; print and hand-deliver to agencies; support audits and onsite audit coordination.
