About The Position

The Sr Manager Inventory in Ready to Wear is responsible for leading a team of Senior Analysts and Inventory Analysts to drive division & pyramid level sales and profit through championing operational efficiency, guest reliability and creating and implementing inventory management strategies in a fast-paced environment, primarily through the Direct Store Delivery fulfillment model. The role involves leading the successful translation of division financial goals by developing, executing, and communicating operational targets for optimal inventory levels by business and developing inventory strategies to support those goals. This influential leader will manage upward to leaders at both the division and pyramid level and be a key partner to Merchandising and Planning leaders in developing full product life cycle strategies. The manager will oversee the inventory strategy for their category by recommending receipts and flow timing, and will partner with Supply Chain teams to control workflow, capacity, and prioritization, indicating a strong passion for process and tools improvement is desired. This role will also serve as the voice of the business in multiple system implementations to support Target’s growth and exceeding guests’ expectations. Engagement with cross-functional teams across the enterprise and external vendor partners is crucial to balance financial and guest-facing goals through partnerships and collaboration. Additional responsibilities include collaborating on talent management routines, hiring, and onboarding; championing financial discipline and routines across the F&B organization, leading and influencing modernization and organizational transformation strategies; and evolving fresh supply chain strategies and systematic support. Requirements

  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Inventory Management, Merchandising, Planning, Retail Supply Chain, or related field
  • Indirect or direct team leadership with success achieving business results through that team
  • Knowledge of supply chain or inventory management principles, systems, and practical applications
  • Clear communication and storytelling
  • Ability to deliver financial metrics and leverage reporting, tools and systems to drive the business forward while demonstrating ability to manage risk
  • Demonstrate courage, take risks and make decisions in a fast-paced complex environment
  • Experience with coaching and developing talent
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage numerous priorities effectively
  • Consensus building, influencing and negotiating at senior levels
  • High degree of analytical and problem-solving skills, deriving actionable insights and forward-thinking recommendations
