About The Position

This role leads defined business audit portfolios, translating enterprise risk priorities into effective audit coverage and insights. It exercises judgment over scope, issue calibration, and escalation while ensuring consistent quality across multiple engagements. The role balances oversight, stakeholder influence, and selective hands-on involvement, while developing audit leaders and contributing to departmental advancement.

Requirements

  • Minimum seven years experience in audit or equivalent required, preferably within financial services or P&C insurance or external audit industry.
  • Minimum three years of leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Act as senior point of contact for audit matters within assigned portfolios.
  • Present results, risk themes, and insights to leadership.
  • Translate audit outcomes into meaningful business and risk narratives.
  • Manage and develop staff through coaching, performance management, and assignment alignment, while leading change management efforts by translating strategic priorities and direction from leadership into actionable guidance.
  • Provide oversight across engagements to ensure quality, consistency, and methodological adherence.
  • Review audit deliverables and challenge issue calibration, evidence sufficiency, and recommendations, including ensuring risks, root causes, and impacts are clearly supported and conclusions are sound.
  • Own assigned portfolios or risk domains.
  • Identify emerging risks, set engagement priorities, and oversee multiple concurrent audits.
  • Approve scopes, workpapers, issue severity, and remediation expectations within delegated authority, escalating enterprise level concerns.
  • Synthesize portfolio level insights and mentor audit leaders.
  • Lead or support methodology improvements, analytics adoption, and other initiatives that enhance audit effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Perform targeted hands on audit work on complex or high#priority engagements while overseeing routine execution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
