About The Position

The Sr. Manager of IT Operations & Infrastructure is responsible for establishing and leading a scalable, standardized, and cost-efficient IT operating model across a portfolio of companies within the Marmon Medical industry group. They will lead a team of on-premise and off-shore resources responsible for a follow-the-sun model. This role drives consolidation, governance, and optimization of infrastructure and related IT operations while balancing centralized control with the flexibility required by individual business units. They partner closely with business and technology leaders to align IT capabilities with organizational objectives. The Sr. Manager will lead enterprise-wide infrastructure strategy, ensure consistent service delivery, and play a key role in M&A integration, technology rationalization, and shared services development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s desired).
  • 12+ years of IT experience with at least 5–7 years in management roles.
  • Proven experience in multi-entity, holding company, or private equity-backed environments desired.
  • Experience in M&A integration, IT consolidation, and transformation initiatives.
  • Solid knowledge and experience with cloud and on-premise infrastructure strategies and execution.
  • Solid knowledge and experience with end user computing strategies and execution.
  • Solid knowledge and experience with enterprise networking across distributed organizations.
  • Solid knowledge and experience with cybersecurity strategies and execution.
  • Solid knowledge and experience with identity and access management across multiple domains/tenants.
  • Solid knowledge and experience with IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
  • Experience with enterprise-scale standardization and optimization.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a governance model that pairs centralized, company-wide policies with decentralized, company-specific requirements and execution.
  • Experience with enterprise infrastructure standardization, cost optimization, and scalability.
  • Strong stakeholder management across diverse business units with varying levels of IT maturity.
  • Experience influencing direct and indirect authority across entities.
  • Strong financial and operational cost containment acumen.
  • Experience with risk management in decentralized environments.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and facilitation skills with the professional presence to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong Program and Project Management oversight skills are required.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment as well as skilled in stakeholder management.
  • Excellent time management, critical thinking, and decision-making skills with a bias toward action.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and confidently create appropriate solutions in uncertain situations.

Responsibilities

  • Define, implement, and manage a centralized IT operating model across all portfolio companies while providing flexible support for operating companies.
  • Establish enterprise-wide standards for infrastructure, operations, security, and service delivery.
  • Create a shared services model for IT operations where appropriate (e.g., service desk, cloud, network) leveraging both on-premises and off-shore resources.
  • Partner with business unit leaders and IT business delivery management to align IT services with both local needs and enterprise priorities.
  • Govern IT decision-making through steering committees and cross-entity collaboration forums.
  • Lead platform standardization across infrastructure entities (cloud, hardware, identity, endpoint management, collaboration tools, off-productivity solution, etc.).
  • Rationalize legacy environments, drive leveraged spend contracts and reduce duplication across companies.
  • Lead initiatives to optimize environments, including migration and consolidation of data centers / hosting environments to the cloud, and improve network architecture and connectivity in conjunction with cybersecurity controls/zero trust.
  • Oversee enterprise infrastructure including multi-cloud and hybrid environments, corporate and site networks across entities, and end user computing platforms across diverse user bases.
  • Ensure consistent service levels (SLAs/XLAs) across all companies.
  • Implement mature IT service management processes (incident, problem, change, asset, configuration).
  • Introduce monitoring, observability, and automation to improve reliability and efficiency.
  • Assist in leading IT due diligence and integration planning of infrastructure for acquisitions.
  • Execute onboarding of acquired companies into the enterprise IT ecosystem.
  • Identify and capture synergies through consolidation and standardization.
  • In partnership with security manager, ensure consistent implementation of infrastructure security controls across all entities.
  • Partner with cybersecurity leadership to enforce baseline security standards.
  • Manage risks related to decentralized IT environments.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations across jurisdictions.
  • In partnership with manager, develop and manage a multi-entity IT operations budget, including cost allocation models.
  • Drive cost synergies through vendor consolidation and strategic sourcing.
  • Track and report on value realization and cost savings from standardization and integration initiatives.
  • Consolidate vendor relationships across portfolio companies.
  • Negotiate enterprise agreements to reduce cost and complexity.
  • Manage MSPs, cloud providers, and off-shore teams at scale.
