About The Position

The Senior Manager, Global Planning is a key member of the Global Supply Planning Organization and is responsible for ensuring uninterrupted supply to all Alnylam patients both late-stage clinical and commercial, in line with corporate and program objectives. The position entails building strong cross-functional relationships throughout the organization, understanding overall program risk, providing scenario planning and generating an achievable production plans. The position is also a key contributor to the Global Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, helping to develop and mature related systems and processes. The successful candidate brings strong S&OP expertise, experience managing transfer of products from clinical to commercial phase with the associated launch, global supply planning, implemented and maintained ERP systems and has a clear understanding of late-stage development timelines and challenges. This is a hybrid position based in our Cambridge, Massachusetts office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a science-related discipline (Masters Degree is a plus)
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in a Supply Chain Planning role, preferably in a Biotechnology or Pharmaceutical environment
  • Strong knowledge of advanced planning and scheduling systems: SAP IBP, Kinaxis or similar tools
  • High level of proficiency in Excel, Data Analysis and Modelling
  • Experience with site capacity planning and/or global product supply planning and knowledge of Biotech, Pharmaceutical Sales & Operations Planning processes
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and present complex information to diverse audiences and levels of the organization

Responsibilities

  • Collect and understand demand-planning assumptions by working closely with Finance, Commercial, Clinical Supply, and Program Teams, with particular focus on clinical and commercial milestones.
  • Maintain a holistic understanding of the demand and supply dynamics affecting assigned program(s), with the ability to process data, identify problematic areas and propose solutions in conjunction with cross-functional team.
  • Manage the Commercial Supply planning process, this includes but not limited to, development of global finished goods packaging plans, global inventory management, and launch planning.
  • Develop annual long-range manufacturing plans based on available information and clearly communicate constraints and risks.
  • Partner with Commercial teams, Finance, internal and external manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Global Logistics, and IT to ensure material availability aligns with commercial timelines and budget.
  • Segregate and allocate inventory versions to mitigate supply risk and ensure compliance with respective countries regulatory approval timelines.
  • Serve as a key contributor to the monthly Commercial S&OP meeting.
  • Facilitate Regional S&OP reviews in conjunction with Global S&OP process
  • Partner cross-functionally to develop scenario plans and strategies that translate into production plans meeting program, capacity, and budget requirements.
  • Lead Supply Chain Continuous Improvement Projects. Engage partners to make and sustain changes.
