About The Position
The Virginia Tourism Corporation (VTC) is seeking a Sr. Manager, Global Markets to support VTC’s campaigns in Canada, Europe, and Asia. This position will support the Global Markets team.
Requirements
- Considerable knowledge of marketing and event management principles, international media relations, and foreign business practices
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple simultaneous projects
- Effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Work independently as well as collaboratively within a multi-discipline team environment
- Work with executives and government officials
- Exhibit sound judgment in making decisions
- Maintain confidentiality on sensitive matters
- Budget planning, procurement, and travel arrangement coordination experience is required
- 5+ years of experience in public relations and/or marketing campaign management required
- Being authorized to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment.
- A valid Virginia driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport are required.

- Proficiency in foreign language(s) is a plus
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, plan, and implement all preparation for trade and media site inspection tours, seminars, and trade shows
- Strategize and assist with implementation of international media, trade and marketing activities
- Participate in tourism trade and international media-related events
- Assist in managing the marketing activities of remote, in-country representatives
- Route travel around Virginia, as well as several international and national trips per year
