About The Position

Otis Elevator Company is seeking a Branch Leadership candidate for a General Manager opening in the Cleveland/Akron, OH area. As a General Manager, you will be responsible for the P&L and daily operations of an Operating Territory (OT), overseeing all aspects of the New Equipment, Service, Repair, and Modernization businesses, including sales and operations. A primary goal is to foster a customer-centric approach to delivery, eliminate silos, and act as the main collaborator and decision-maker closest to the customer.

  • Leadership experience within field operations and/or sales.
  • Background within construction/engineering.
  • Working experience of safety regulations and compliance.
  • Enthusiastic and committed to delivering exceptional service.
  • Inspiring leader with an inclusive and collaborative style.
  • Effective communication and relationship building skills.
  • Strategic mindset blended with a tactical, hands-on approach.
  • Proven organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple projects, programs, and objectives.

  • Analytical mindset with exceptional decision-making capabilities.
  • Willing and able to perform job duties 100% in the office or on job sites; remote work is not available.

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example regarding Otis Absolutes (Safety, Ethics & Quality) and Leadership Behaviors.
  • Hire, motivate, and develop a team of office and field-based employees, fostering a high-performing culture that promotes inclusion, engagement, and talent development.
  • Drive financial performance and manage profit & loss, implementing a successful sales strategy to achieve business growth and market share.
  • Serve as the first line of escalation for customers to ensure a seamless end-to-end customer experience.
  • Maintain knowledge of market dynamics, main competitors, and customer needs to anticipate industry trends and adapt strategies for a competitive edge.
  • Build the customer portfolio and create successful, long-lasting relationships.
  • Improve efficiencies in all areas, including route optimization and effective resource allocation.
  • Manage transformation initiatives in alignment with the Operating Unit roadmap.
  • Collaborate with Delivery Operations to support continuous improvement and the centralization of administrative activities to increase customer focus.
