What We’re Looking For: The Finance team at 2U provides strategic financial leadership and analytical support to stakeholders across the organization. We support decision-making and operational effectiveness through financial planning, analysis, and cross-functional collaboration, all in service of 2U’s mission to expand access to high-quality education. As a Senior Manager, FP&A, you will play a lead role in supporting high-impact, cross-functional initiatives across the business.This includes evaluating new initiatives, supporting business case development, driving financial modeling, and surfacing insights that inform company-wide decisions. You’ll work closely with Finance leadership and cross-functional teams to drive clarity around priorities, risks, and opportunities. This is an ideal role for a highly analytical and proactive individual with strong business acumen and a desire to work in a mission-driven and fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA preferred)
8+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or related field, with 3+ years in a leadership role
Demonstrated experience managing and developing high-performing teams
Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate financial insights
Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills

Responsibilities

Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on financial strategy, investment decisions, and long-term planning
Lead the annual budgeting process, long-range planning, and rolling forecasts across the organization
Provide proactive insights on business performance, risks, and opportunities to drive informed decision-making
Influence strategic initiatives including pricing strategy, valuation of complex deal structures, cost optimization, capital allocation, and growth investments
Oversee company-wide budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes
Develop and maintain financial models to support scenario planning and business cases
Deliver executive-ready reporting packages and board-level presentations
Establish KPIs and performance dashboards to monitor operational and financial performance
Serve as a finance point of contact for strategic initiatives, coordinating with teams across the business
Translate financial insights into clear narratives that support stakeholder understanding and strategic decision-making
Collaborate on presentations and materials for executive audiences and project steering groups
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of FP&A professionals; establish clear goals, accountability, and career development paths
Foster a culture of collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement
Elevate the analytical capabilities of the team through training, systems enhancements, and best-practice implementation
Drive cross-functional alignment between Finance and key business units
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
Lead enhancements to financial systems, planning tools, and reporting automation
Strengthen internal controls and data governance within FP&A processes
