About The Position

GPJ is hiring a Senior Manager of Fabrication to oversee daily operations at its fabrication shop in Las Vegas. This is an on-site position requiring attendance at the Las Vegas office at least five days per week. The role schedules and supervises union and non-union shop staff, administers staffing, forecasts labor needs based on project workload, and oversees milling, carpentry, metal fabrication, paint, electrical, and crating. The Senior Manager leads, staffs, and trains the fabrication team; determines the working hours needed to meet the shop workload; and applies extensive knowledge of exhibit fabrication techniques. The role also contributes to optimizing shop layout and stock-material needs, including quantities, material posting, racking, and use of limited space. Quality control is a major responsibility, with success measured by client and end-user satisfaction. The position works across project management, estimating, engineering, warehouse, graphics, purchasing, and fabrication leadership to coordinate staffing, materials, schedules, quality, and process improvements. It recruits for fabrication departments, develops relationships with trade schools and other talent sources, evaluates carpentry skills, and develops apprentices and shop personnel. Estimated travel is less than 10%.
