About The Position

This role will plan, design build, and govern in shaping and delivering the multi-instance SAP application landscape including ECC and S/4 as DePuy Synthes separates from JnJ to become a stand alone organization. We are looking for an SAP platform leader to manage multiple conveyed SAP ECC and S/4 instances supporting Day 1 separation, lead through the TSA transition, and execute on SAP instance consolidation into S/4 supporting TSA exit. This role will be responsible to partner closely with business and IT stakeholders to align ERP/SAP architecture with business processes, enabling operational efficiency, innovation, and growth. The position offers the opportunity to influence enterprise-wide technology direction and contribute to a modern, connected digital ecosystem including AI. We are looking for experienced SAP platform professionals with one or more of the following skill sets: SAP Basis, SAP Security, SAP ABAP Development, SAP BTP and IS Integration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required
  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise/ERP architecture, including demonstrated experience leading architecture teams or major architecture programs
  • Hands on and leadership experience with one or more of the following: SAP ABAP – Strong hands on development experience across SAP ECC and S/4HANA, in RICEFW (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms and Workflows)
  • SAP Security - Strong hands-on expertise with SAP GRC Access Control, including Access Risk Analysis (ARA), Access Request Management (ARM), Business Role Management (BRM) and Emergency Access Management (EAM/Firefighter).
  • SAP BASIS – Strong hands on experience planning, delivering and administering SAP S/4 HANA, SAP ECC, SAP BTP, across hybrid cloud platform landscapes.
  • SAP Integration BTP / IS - Lead integration development and architecture across SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, SuccessFactors, Ariba, EWM, TM, GTS, IBP, Concur, Salesforce and other enterprise platforms.
  • Lead teams and SI partners; provide technical governance, code reviews, estimation, design authority and mentoring.
  • Strong experience with production support, critical incident management, performance tuning, root-cause analysis and release management across 24×7 global SAP environments.
  • Excellent collaboration with SAP functional leads, enterprise architects, business stakeholders, QA/Validation, Infrastructure and global IT leadership.
  • Deep expertise in enterprise application architecture and ERP systems (e.g., SAP or similar platforms), including large-scale, multi-platform integration
  • Proven track record defining ERP strategy and roadmaps and driving enterprise-wide architecture standards and governance
  • Experience leading complex, global ERP implementations or transformations end to end
  • Strong leadership, people management, and stakeholder management skills across senior business and IT audiences
  • Ability to influence executive-level technology and investment decisions

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or MBA preferred
  • Experience with global S/4 implementations or transformations
  • Experience with SAP BTP, Integration Suite, Fiori/UI5 and REST/OData services is highly desirable.
  • Experience with S/4HANA, Fiori, SAP BTP and Joule/Generative AI enablement
  • Strong knowledge of API Management, REST/OData/SOAP, IDoc, RFC/BAPI and event-driven integration.
  • Experience managing SAP security integration with SAP BTP, SuccessFactors, Ariba, Identity Authentication/Identity Provisioning and enterprise IAM/SSO platforms.
  • Understanding of GxP, CSV/CSA, audit trails, electronic records, change control and validated SAP environments within Pharma/Medical Device.
  • Experience in regulated industries such as healthcare or medical technology
  • Exposure to enterprise security, compliance, and governance frameworks
  • Experience managing vendors or delivery partners
  • Experience in a separation, spin-off, carve-out, or M&A technology environment
  • ERP platform certifications (e.g., SAP), TOGAF, or cloud certifications preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple conveyed SAP ECC and S/4 instances supporting Day 1 separation, lead through the TSA transition period, and execute on SAP instance consolidation into S/4 supporting TSA exit.
  • Own and drive the enterprise ERP architecture strategy and multi-year roadmap, ensuring alignment with business strategy, enterprise technology standards, and the company's separation and standalone objectives
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of ERP and enterprise application architects, setting direction, priorities, and performance expectations
  • Establish and govern architectural standards, principles, and design patterns across the ERP and enterprise application landscape
  • Partner with senior business and IT stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into scalable, integrated ERP architecture solutions
  • Direct the design and integration of ERP systems with other enterprise platforms, ensuring compatibility and interoperability across systems, technologies, and data environments
  • Provide architectural governance and oversight across programs, reviewing and approving designs to ensure security, compliance, and performance standards are met
  • Lead build-vs-buy and technology selection decisions; evaluate current systems and recommend modernization, consolidation, or new technology investments
  • Manage relationships with vendors, system integrators, and managed service providers, including oversight of delivery quality and adherence to architecture standards
  • Contribute to technology budgeting, resource planning, and prioritization of the ERP investment portfolio
  • Champion adoption of emerging technologies (e.g., cloud, integration, and analytics platforms) to optimize ERP capabilities and enterprise operations
  • Establish and maintain enterprise architecture documentation, reference models, and governance forums for ERP systems
  • Provide escalation leadership for complex system integration and performance issues across the enterprise
