About The Position

At STACK, the Sr. Manager, Electrical Engineering & Design, will support innovation initiatives, maintain and update company design standards, direct, coordinate, and oversee project specific design activities in support of STACK’s develop of cost-effective and energy efficient data center facilities that meet the current and future needs of its customers. Acting as the subject matter expert on concurrently maintainable electrical power systems for data centers, the Manager of Electrical Engineering & Design will support the Director of Electrical Engineering and the Innovation and Engineering team.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
Minimum of 7 years' experience in the design of data centers and specification of electrical equipment for mission critical facilities.
Expertise in diesel engine standby generators, uninterruptable power supplies and a full understanding of how to design a concurrently maintainable facility are a must.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint.
Baseline proficiency of AutoCAD, Bluebeam and Adobe Acrobat.

Engineering in Training (EIT) certification desired with progress towards Professional Engineer (PE) licensure

Responsibilities

Oversee the preparation and final approval of project contract documents produced by third party design consultants.
Ensure that project designs are completed on schedule and within budget.
Supply engineering expertise and guidance on projects, operations, and systems within the company’s existing facilities.
Develop and maintain equipment specifications for owner furnished and contractor installed (OFCI) equipment and systems.
Support the procurement of owner furnished and contractor installed equipment and systems through vendor submittal reviews, approvals and factory witness testing.
Maintain and update the legacy basis of design documents.
Assist in development of new basis of designs for emerging business needs.
Identify, recommend, and implement new technologies and systems to maximize energy and cost efficiency of the company’s data centers.
Communicate and implement engineering and design policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent operations.
Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in engineering and design trends related to the organizations industry.
Perform other duties as assigned.
