About The Position

The Sr. Manager, Data Engineer on the Data Platform Team will design, build, and maintain robust software and data solutions that power millions of transactions every day. This includes work on Transaction Log (T‑Log) APIs, real‑time data pipelines, and internal developer tools, all aimed at accelerating decision‑making and unlocking new guest‑facing experiences across RBI’s global footprint. The role requires a 5-day, in-office work schedule in Miami, FL to support collaboration.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in data engineering roles, with a proven track record of leading and managing data engineering teams.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Effective communication skills and drive to mentor team members.
  • 3+ years of professional experience with managing engineers.
  • 3+ years of professional experience with complex SQL queries.
  • 2+ years of professional experience with AWS.

Responsibilities

  • Build and optimize batch & streaming data pipelines (ETL/ELT) that deliver clean, reliable data to Snowflake and other analytics platforms.
  • Write clean, well‑tested code (Terraform, Python, TypeScript/Node.js), automate deployments with CI/CD, and uphold engineering best practices through code reviews and design docs.
  • Provision and manage cloud resources using Infrastructure‑as‑Code (Terraform, AWS CDK, or Serverless Framework) while monitoring performance and cost.
  • Partner closely with data scientists, analysts, product managers, and fellow engineers to deliver end‑to‑end solutions; provide Tier‑2 support and operational excellence for the services you own.
  • Identify technical debt, drive refactoring efforts, and champion observability and reliability using tools like Datadog, CloudWatch, and OpenTelemetry.
