About The Position

Capital One Auto is looking for an experienced Group Creative Director to help direct the strategy, development, innovation, execution, and production of creative assets across the consumer’s auto buying journey. You’ll build partnerships across the organization to enable your teams to develop and execute world-class, effective creative strategies for a range of social media, experiential, and digital channels, including email, web, direct mail, display, and video. You’ll use your deep marketing & creative knowledge to influence and shape the direction of breakthrough creative that drives results and makes the Capital One Brand easy to remember and easy to choose.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • At least 5 years of experience leading creative teams

Nice To Haves

  • Creative portfolio that includes produced work for large, integrated marketing campaigns.
  • 6+ years of experience as a Creative Director
  • 6+ years of experience directly managing a creative team
  • 2+ years experience at a large in-house creative team
  • 2+ years experience working with a Fortune 100 brand
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, initiative, leadership, creativity, balance of proactive and reactiveness, and drive for results
  • A love for creating content, following trends and helping brands connect with their audience in social-first ways
  • Knowledge of social media marketing, with high-level understanding of best practices and guidelines and willingness to challenge the status quo
  • Bonus if you have direct experience across any or all of the major social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, YouTube, etc.)
  • Big picture thinking, connecting the dots between multiple experiences to create one seamless customer-focused brand.
  • Experience leading and managing creative processes, working with creative teams or external agencies
  • Skilled relationship-builder with strong aptitude for client relationship management

Responsibilities

  • Enable creative leaders and teams to do their best work
  • Lead and inspire the team in the initial strategy development of insight-driven creative.
  • Review and approve new creative proposals.
  • Work with Brand Managers and Creatives to effectively scope and resource work, and lead team creative reviews.
  • Manage creative talent (Art Directors, Graphic Designers and Copywriters) including a mix of full-time associates, contractors, and agencies.
  • Empower and inspire full-time associates through coaching and help them develop in their careers.
  • Build and maintain relationships with a network of partner groups (business, process, legal, governance, etc.) to anticipate and proactively address obstacles and establish Brand Creative as a strategic thought partner.
  • Work with our internal teams, content creators, and agencies to define, guide, craft content creation on key platforms such as YouTube, Meta, TikTok and more.
  • Partner with and influence marketing and internal business leaders to understand consumer needs, positively influencing marketing strategy and the customer experience.
  • Use expert knowledge of advertising and marketing trends and translate business intent into creative strategies and executions that market products effectively.
  • Understand the intended audience; interpret market research and test results, and use findings to focus targeted marketing messages.
  • Consistently evaluate the industry and beyond to ensure the delivery of leading edge, relevant and impactful brand elements and creative approaches.
  • Keep the creative team ahead of the curve and develop emerging creative talent and leaders.
  • Anticipate the future needs of the brand and proactively evolve our look and feel to meet the needs of our business partners and customers.
  • Open the door for new business and partnerships for both your team and the department using influence, subject matter expertise, and inspiring continuous improvement of our creative approach across all marketing channels.
