About The Position

LifeStance has an opportunity to become an authoritative content hub for multiple audiences, including patients, current and prospective clinicians, referring providers and industry partners. A formal content strategy that aligns our activities across all owned channels allows LifeStance to convert clinical authority into a durable competitive asset — building trust with key stakeholders before they need us and reinforcing our authority as the leader in outpatient mental health care. Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in content strategy, editorial strategy, brand storytelling, communications, thought leadership, integrated marketing, or related fields.
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States
  • Demonstrates awareness, inclusivity, sensitivity, humility, and experience in working with individuals from diverse ethnic backgrounds, socioeconomic statuses, sexual orientations, gender identities, and other various aspects of culture.

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare, behavioral health, consumer health, or regulated industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong editorial judgment with demonstrated experience building content strategies, editorial calendars, voice standards, and governance models.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, visual, and video communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging across audiences and channels.
  • Proven ability to translate complex clinical, business, and brand priorities into compelling, audience-relevant storytelling.
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with clinical, legal, compliance, PR, marketing, growth, social, reputation, business development, and executive teams.
  • Strong understanding of how content supports brand awareness, trust, reputation, discoverability, patient acquisition, clinician engagement, and enterprise growth.
  • Experience using data, insights, search behavior, and performance reporting to inform content strategy.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to lead complex workstreams in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the architect of LifeStance’s editorial ecosystem, leading the evolution and execution of editorial voice, storytelling, and content strategy across channels.
  • Own enterprise content strategy, including content pillars, audience priorities, editorial standards, voice, tone, and storytelling approach.
  • Develop and manage the 12-month content strategy and 90-day execution calendar to ensure content priorities align with business goals, brand strategy, and audience needs.
  • Lead annual content planning with key stakeholders and establish a quarterly review cadence to evaluate priorities, performance, and upcoming needs.
  • Own and evolve the editorial style guide to ensure consistency, clarity, quality, and brand alignment across all content.
  • Act as the strategic connector across marketing functions to ensure content priorities are aligned, coordinated, and not duplicative.
  • Own the editorial calendar, incorporating input from marketing channels, PR, social, reputation, clinical, growth, business development, and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead editorial planning meetings and manage the formal intake process for cross-functional content and storytelling requests.
  • Advise teams on content repurposing opportunities across owned, earned, shared, paid, internal, and partner channels.
  • Keep the 90-day execution calendar current and hold teams accountable to timelines, deliverables, and agreed-upon priorities.
  • Maintain LifeStance’s editorial voice and content quality standards across channels and audiences.
  • Review content for strategic fit, brand voice, audience clarity, message consistency, and alignment to business objectives.
  • Ensure content is clear, credible, human, and appropriate for the sensitivity of mental health-related topics.
  • Partner with clinical, legal, compliance, and communications stakeholders as needed to ensure content is accurate, responsible, and aligned to organizational standards.
  • Develop enterprise thought leadership strategy aligned to brand, reputation, clinical expertise, business priorities, and category leadership goals.
  • Identify priority themes, audiences, and moments where LifeStance has a credible voice and differentiated point of view.
  • Partner with clinical leaders, executives, PR, content, social, and marketing teams to translate expertise into compelling external storytelling.
  • Build repeatable thought leadership platforms that support earned media, owned content, sponsored content, speaking opportunities, executive visibility, and clinician storytelling.
  • Create and maintain a pipeline of thought leadership topics, contributors, proof points, and activation opportunities across clinical, operational, executive, and market teams.
  • Ensure thought leadership supports broader goals across brand trust, reputation, referral confidence, clinician pride, recruiting, and category relevance.
  • Serve as a strategic content and storytelling partner across marketing, PR, clinical, operations, people/talent, business development, M&A, and executive stakeholders.
  • Translate enterprise priorities into audience-relevant messaging, content plans, campaigns, and thought leadership opportunities.
  • Facilitate alignment across functions on editorial priorities, timing, channel strategy, audience needs, and intended outcomes.
  • Build processes that improve collaboration, reduce duplicative work, and ensure content is created with a clear purpose, audience, and performance goal.
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure content supports patient acquisition, clinician engagement, referral partner credibility, reputation, recruiting, business development, and internal alignment.
  • Own content KPIs, performance reporting, and measurement recommendations across priority channels and content types.
  • Use performance data, audience insights, search behavior, reputation inputs, and stakeholder feedback to inform editorial decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve content effectiveness, audience engagement, discoverability, repurposing, and business contribution.
  • Develop reporting that helps leaders understand how content and thought leadership are supporting awareness, trust, engagement, reputation, and growth priorities.
