About The Position

The Senior Manager, Compliance is a senior leader within the Legal & Compliance team at Possible Finance, serving as a strategic partner to the General Counsel on regulatory risk across the company's lending and financial products. This role owns key aspects of the Compliance Management Program, including complaints management, monitoring, testing, training, issues management, and regulatory change management, and is expected to operate independently in ambiguous regulatory environments, translating grey-area judgment calls into practical, risk-based guidance for the business. The Senior Manager, Compliance leads a team of compliance professionals and is a key voice in how Possible balances innovation with regulatory risk. Requirements

  • 12+ years of progressive regulatory compliance experience, including at least 3-4 years in a senior or leadership capacity, preferably in banking, consumer finance, or fintech.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience owning key aspects of a Compliance Management Program end-to-end, including risk assessment, monitoring/testing, training, and issue/complaint management.
  • Experience with bank partnership/exportation lending models, including familiarity with preemption and true lender risk considerations strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal and state consumer protection laws, including ECOA, TILA, FCRA, FDCPA, EFTA, ESIGN, SCRA/MLA, GLBA, UDAAP, Fair Lending, and BSA/AML/OFAC.
  • Track record of engaging directly with regulators and/or bank partners during exams or audits preferred.
  • Experience with consumer lending, credit products, and/or payment operations.
  • Experience with third-party/vendor risk management, including due diligence and ongoing oversight.
  • Comfortable operating at both a strategic level (setting program direction) and an operational level (day-to-day execution).
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound, risk-based judgment calls in ambiguous regulatory areas with limited guidance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex regulations into actionable guidance.
  • Experience building, developing, and scaling a compliance team.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence business strategy.
  • Uses AI tools in their own work, with a clear point of view on where automated output needs human review before it becomes a control.

Responsibilities

  • Own key aspects of the design, implementation, and ongoing evolution of the Compliance Management Program for Possible Finance's products and services.
  • Partner with the legal team to advise on new products, business model changes, and market expansion, assessing regulatory risk before launch.
  • Own resolution of customer complaint activity, and lead the issues management process by tracking issues, identifying internal stakeholders, and guiding issues to resolution.
  • Lead compliance risk assessments to identify, measure, and evaluate risks and assess the adequacy of internal controls; report on CMS effectiveness to senior leadership.
  • Lead and execute monitoring, testing, and reporting initiatives to detect and remediate compliance gaps.
  • Own the compliance component of third-party/vendor risk management, including due diligence and ongoing oversight.
  • Review marketing and advertising materials for regulatory issues (e.g., UDAAP, Reg Z advertising requirements, Fair Lending) and provide guidance to the marketing team prior to launch.
  • Advise leadership on compliance matters, including regulatory changes, risk assessments, monitoring, training, consumer complaints, and third-party vendor risk.
  • Hire, develop, and scale a team of compliance professionals; act as a mentor and escalation point.
  • Serve as a key subject matter expert on federal and state consumer financial regulations.
  • Identify where AI and workflow tooling can absorb manual monitoring, testing and reporting, so the team spends its time on judgment calls and regulatory strategy.
