About The Position

FIS is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Manager, Cloud Engineering to lead the design, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of enterprise cloud infrastructure platforms. This leader will oversee a team of cloud engineers responsible for delivering secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective cloud solutions that enable application development, modernization, and business growth.
The ideal candidate combines strong people leadership, strategic thinking, and deep hands-on expertise with AWS cloud infrastructure, networking, automation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). This role will serve as a key technology leader responsible for establishing engineering standards, modernizing infrastructure practices, and driving cloud adoption across the enterprise.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing Cloud Engineering team through coaching, mentoring, talent development, performance management, and succession planning.
• Establish strategic direction and technical roadmaps for cloud infrastructure platforms and services.
• Drive the design, deployment, and operation of secure, highly available, and scalable AWS environments.
• Define cloud architecture standards, best practices, governance controls, and operational procedures.
• Partner with Architecture, Security, Application Development, DevOps, and Infrastructure teams to deliver cloud-native solutions.
• Promote infrastructure automation and self-service capabilities across engineering organizations.
• Oversee cloud networking design, including VPC architecture, hybrid connectivity, routing, segmentation, and traffic management.
• Ensure compliance with security, risk, audit, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage operational excellence through monitoring, incident management, capacity planning, disaster recovery, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Drive cost optimization initiatives and establish FinOps practices for cloud resource management.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to cloud platforms and engineering processes.
• Participate in budgeting, resource planning, vendor management, and strategic technology investments.
• Develop and maintain engineering metrics, KPIs, and executive reporting.
• Build a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and engineering excellence.
• Foster strong partnerships with business and technology stakeholders.
• Influence senior leaders and drive alignment across complex organizational environments.
• Lead organizational change and cloud transformation initiatives.
• Develop future engineering leaders and technical talent.
• Balance strategic planning with operational execution.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
