About The Position

At Roche, we foster a culture where individuality is embraced, and personal expression, open dialogue, and genuine connections are encouraged. We value, accept, and respect everyone, enabling them to thrive personally and professionally. Our mission is to prevent, stop, and cure diseases, ensuring universal access to healthcare for present and future generations. Join Roche, where every voice matters. Roche is dedicated to advancing DNA sequencing data analysis through innovative approaches that change how and where sequencing data is processed, aiming to analyze data as it's generated and where it's generated. We are seeking a visionary and technically adept leader to spearhead the customer-facing bioinformatics and software strategy for our groundbreaking Axelios sequencing platform. As we introduce XOOS, our advanced ecosystem of bioinformatics tools, you will serve as the crucial link between our pioneering customers and our internal development teams. This is an unconventional role where you will lead a specialized team of bioinformatics scientists and software engineers to develop tailored, high-impact solutions, overcome complex technical challenges, and engage in collaborative research with early adopters. Given that the Axelios platform utilizes a paradigm distinct from traditional Sequencing-by-Synthesis (SBS), your role will be vital in educating the market, facilitating a smooth transition to our tools, and translating intricate customer feedback into effective development pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary executive-level technical contact for new customers, driving deep adoption of the XOOS bioinformatics ecosystem across major clinical and research applications.
  • Build, inspire, and manage a high-performing team of customer-facing bioinformatics scientists and solutions architects.
  • Lead the creation of customized workflows, data analysis pipelines, and software integrations to solve unique customer pain points and accelerate Axelios platform adoption.
  • Partner with strategic early-adopter customers on collaborative research projects, co-authoring whitepapers, and demonstrating the unique capabilities of Axelios non-SBS data.
  • Act as a critical strategic partner to internal Bioinformatics and Software R&D teams, synthesizing market requirements, feature requests, and technical friction points into the product roadmap.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Product Management to support high-value customer engagements, technical evaluations, and complex contract closures.
