About The Position

Trident Consulting is seeking a Sr Mainframe Developer for a remote, 1-year contract (W2) with potential for extension. The role involves developing and implementing technical solutions for a Healthcare Claims application, transforming business requirements into scalable, efficient, and compliant mainframe systems. The developer will design, develop, test, debug, and maintain mainframe claims applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, and MQ. Collaboration with business analysts, QA teams, project managers, and support teams is essential. The role also includes providing technical leadership and mentoring to offshore team members, coordinating onsite-offshore activities, and acting as a key contact for technical issue resolution. Responsibilities also encompass troubleshooting production issues, optimizing application performance, conducting code reviews, and supporting SIT, UAT, production deployments, and post-implementation activities.

Requirements

• Strong experience in Mainframe technologies, COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS and MQ for application development.
• Experience with Healthcare Claims Adjudication processes and a strong understanding of related business workflows and operations.
• Solid understanding of code migration and release management processes, including package creation, code promotion across Development, Test, QA, and Production environments, along with post-deployment validation and backout procedures.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical and production support issues.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and offshore development teams.
• Experience working in Agile development environments and the ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team setting.

Responsibilities
