Requirements

  • Law Degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Bar Membership in California or Idaho.
  • At least ten (10) years of sophisticated commercial real estate transaction experience, including representation of retail tenants and/or landlords and developers on a wide range of matters, including acquisition, development, leasing and management of commercial properties.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, well-developed drafting and negotiation skills, excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills, and strong attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Ironclad a plus
  • A broad and in-depth knowledge of real estate legal concepts, laws, and a variety of deal structures and documentation, preferably in a retail context.

Responsibilities

  • Providing legal counsel to management and real estate business staff with respect to the structuring, documentation and negotiation of real estate transactions
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating real estate contracts, leases, and other real estate-related legal documents.
  • Conducting due diligence in connection with real estate acquisitions and dispositions.
  • Serve as primary real estate counsel for two operational divisions.
  • Providing legal support for the day-to-day management of owned and leased properties.
  • Collaborating with other internal teams, including finance, property management, and operations, to support business objectives.
  • Managing the paralegal functions that support the portfolio to which you are assigned.
  • Development of other attorneys and paralegals.
  • Supervising outside counsel and overseeing outside counsel work to ensure delivery of high quality, cost-effective legal services.
  • Support efforts to build belonging in the Legal Department and the Company
