About The Position

This role is part of the DoW SkillBridge Internship and Military Spouse Fellowship Programs, designed for transitioning service members or military spouses seeking meaningful civilian work experience. Participants will receive hands-on training and exposure to Humana's culture, teams, and priorities, partnering with their team to support members, projects, and meeting goals. The objective is to support and facilitate care for members. The DoW Senior Learning Design Professional Intern will apply their training, skills, and education to the learning delivery team, using instructional design, cognitive psychology, and adult learning theory to determine appropriate solutions for training courses. Work assignments are varied and require interpretation and independent determination of actions. The intern will influence department strategy and make decisions on complex technical approaches for project components, performing work without direction.

Requirements

  • Transitioning Service Member eligible to participate in the DoW SkillBridge, or Military Spouse eligible to participate in the Military Spouse Fellowship Career Accelerator Program
  • Associate's degree in any field
  • Minimum one, (1), year of training or learning development/facilitation experience
  • One year of administrative experience, including working with documentation (creation and editing of materials for training, SOPA, process flows, and/or job aids)
  • Experience using data analytics reporting
  • Experience learning strategies and adult learning theories
  • Intermediate to Advanced Proficient in all office products
  • Organize information
  • Minimum Intermediate/Advanced typing and navigation skills using multiple systems, platforms)
  • Ability to be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on improving consumer experiences
  • Remote Work at Home and with combination travel to perform training
  • United States, must be willing eastern time zone – Hours: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time
  • Typical work schedule is in Eastern Time Zone depending on the state where training is being facilitated.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in one of the following areas: Learning and Performance; Education; Organizational Design or related field
  • Understanding of curriculum design and adult learning principles
  • CBT creation (Articulate or Captivate), CSOD, design experience and coursework development
  • Experience using several training tools to facilitate to a wide audience
  • Microsoft Project experience
  • Experience managing projects or processes

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and collaborate on developing training curriculum, materials, job performance aids and programs to meet specific training needs.
  • Analyze content, organize content, design solutions, and write facilitator guides, scripts, use case scenarios, performance support, mobile learning and process documents.
  • Analyze and identify main gaps through data and reporting functions to provide recommended remediation through learning and educational concepts to improve and mitigate risk.
  • Coordinate and facilitate all aspects of training programs for participants throughout the organization, including instructor-led and virtual instructor-led training.
  • Know how to use system platform and collaborative tools to facilitate learning.
  • Analyze learning needs and partner with subject matter experts to provide input for course content.
  • Write learning goals and coordinate performance assessments to measure training effectiveness.
  • Ensure course materials are current and to training needs.
  • Analyze the training programs effectiveness by examining learner's satisfaction levels, proficiency testing, and job performance improvement.
  • Ties this in with critical compliance and quality measures.
  • Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and performs work without direction.
  • Exercise considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to lead collaboration and continuous improvement efforts with markets.
