About The Position

Royal Caribbean Group is seeking an experienced, visionary design leader to guide conceptual design for innovative private destinations in coastal environments. The role develops a design vision aligned with Royal Caribbean’s brand and strategic objectives and oversees multiple architectural design efforts within the Studio team. The position works onsite in Miami and collaborates with planners, landscape designers, and architectural designers to create cohesive concepts connecting the Area of Development and Architecture. The position leads teams and design development, oversees drawings, models, and renderings, and conducts design reviews and presentations for senior management. It ensures that design work is innovative, functional, attentive to detail, aligned with industry trends and best practices, and compliant with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and Royal Caribbean quality benchmarks. The posting describes the role as seeking a candidate with 10+ years of experience and current VP-level or higher experience in practice.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture, design, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in architectural design, with a broad range of architectural aesthetics.
Current practice experience at VP level or higher, demonstrating leadership and expertise in conceptual design.
Extensive experience managing large-scale projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in drawing, drafting, modeling, and rendering.
Portfolio showcasing relevant projects.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Lead the conceptual design phase for innovative private destinations in coastal environments.
Develop and articulate a design vision aligned with Royal Caribbean’s brand and strategic objectives.
Provide leadership, direction, and support for successful execution of design concepts.
Manage multiple architectural design efforts within the Studio team and foster a collaborative, creative work environment.
Oversee the creation of drawings, models, and renderings that communicate design concepts and ideas.
Ensure design concepts are innovative, functional, and aligned with industry trends and best practices.
Work with planners, landscape designers, and architectural designers to develop cohesive concept designs connecting the Area of Development and Architecture.
Conduct regular design reviews and presentations to senior management, providing updates on project status and design development.
Maintain high standards of design quality and attention to detail.
Ensure design work complies with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and Royal Caribbean quality benchmarks.
