The Senior Landfill Heavy Equipment Operator operates light and heavy equipment and performs general laboring duties.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- One (1) year of experience in a related field
- Valid State of Georgia Class "B" Commercial Driver's License
Responsibilities
- Operates a wheel loader, yard jockey truck, and trailer to process incoming waste to be hauled by contractor to out-of-county landfill site.
- Operates excavator, wheel loader, bulldozer, and compactor to process inert waste.
- Operates a zero-turn mower and farm tractor/rotary mower to maintain landfill grounds.
- Operates weed eaters, hand blowers, edgers, chemical sprayers, pole saws, etc. to maintain the landfill.
- Performs preventive maintenance on vehicles and heavy equipment.
- Performs litter control duties.
- Serves on City Emergency Response Team as required.
- Provides direction and assistance to customers.
