About The Position

The person selected for this position will provide Jira Project Integration support to the Human Lander System (HLS) Program Office (LP03) at the Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC). The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, updating, and maintaining Jira project functionality in support of project needs. The candidate shall coordinate with the HLS Jira lead and project Jira administrators to develop and maintain workflows and project attributes in accordance with agency Jira governance and standards, using Atlassian tools including Confluence. As appropriate, collaborate with Human Landing System (HLS) Office Managers on integration activities of interest (such as integrating DOORS Next Generation and Jira for the HLS Systems Engineering & Integration Office), as well as support various Agency and Center Digital Engineering initiatives for the HLS Program. Coordinate with agency tool governance organizations and administrators to ensure compliance with enterprise standards and security requirements. Manage user access, roles, and permissions in accordance with identity management processes. Provide advisory and hands-on support to HLS partners for Jira/Confluence usage and Configuration Management practices, as requested.

Requirements

  • A BS degree in a STEM field from an ABET accredited institution is required.
  • Ph.D., with minimum of 14 years of experience, MS with at least 18 years of experience, or BS with at least 20-25 years of experience.
  • Possess a minimum of four (4) years of experience supporting Jira deployment, configuration, and administration.
  • A strong ability to perform with limited direction and guidance.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and effective team player with customer relations skills, familiar with working in a dynamic work environment.
  • A strong “read the room” aptitude.
  • Demonstrated experience building strong working relationships with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to organize and facilitate meetings/technical discussions.
  • Ability to interface and collaborate with all levels of engineering and project management.
  • Must be a US citizen and have a STAR ID

  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, to make rational decisions, and to exercise good judgment is essential (100%).

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to develop, update, and maintain Jira project functionality in support of project needs. This will include translating multi-disciplinary stakeholder requirements into Jira project structures, workflow, and configurations aligned with project lifecycle needs.
  • Configure, develop and maintain Jira projects, dashboards, reports, and advanced queries to support project execution and milestone tracking.
  • Implement and maintain Configuration Management processes ensuring traceability, version control and audit readiness across Jira and Confluence environments.
  • Design, implement, and maintain custom workflows, including automation rules, as requested.
  • Assess, recommend, and support integration of tools, plugins, and external systems to enhance data sharing and interoperability.
  • Provide trainings, briefings, and user support materials to enable effective adoption and use of Jira/Confluence capabilities.
