About The Position

NTT DATA is seeking a Sr. Java Developer (FTE / Hybrid / Onsite Interview) to join their team in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. This role requires a strong foundation in software development, the ability to work in an Agile team, adaptability, a wide range of technical skills, and the capacity to understand financial services business requirements. The ideal candidate is a versatile programmer capable of quickly switching contexts and collaborating effectively with project managers, database engineers, technical operations, and other personnel.

Requirements

• BS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or applicable programming area of study.
• 5+ years prior work experience working with an application development organization; must demonstrate experience delivering systems and projects from inception through implementation.
• 5+ years of experience in Java, Spring MVC and/or Spring Boot.
• 5+ years of experience in Database access methods and SQL constructs.
• Ability to work in an Agile team environment.
• Adaptable with a wide range of technical skills.
• Ability to understand financial services business requirements.
• Strong 'utility' type programmer with the ability to switch context quickly and efficiently.
• Experience with Build & Deployment tools such as Maven, GIT, Terraform is a plus (3+ years preferred).
• Cannot have active CPT, OPT, or OPT EAD status.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with container-based deployments such as Kubernetes, Docker, Docker Compose, Vagrant is a plus.
• Understand Asynchronous and Synchronous messaging. Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, JMS, MDBs.
• Work experience with any of the following – PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Linux/UNIX Shell Programming, Python is a plus.
• Work experience in developing Web Applications with Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, CSS, HTML, Bootstrap is a plus.
• A minimum of 2 years’ work experience within Financial Services industry including banking, wealth management, investment management, asset data and investment processing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop code based on reading and understanding business and functional requirements following the Agile process.
• Produce high-quality code to meet all project deadlines and ensure the functionality matches the requirements.
• Analyze and resolve issues found during the testing or pre-production phases of the software delivery lifecycle, coordinating changes with project team leaders and cross-work team members.
• Provide technical support to project team members and respond to inquiries regarding errors or questions about programs.
• Interact with architects, technical leads, team members, and project managers as required to address technical and schedule issues.
• Suggest and implement process improvements for estimating development and testing processes.
• Demonstrate a commitment to quality, writing unit tests with Junit and Mockito.
• Proficiency in Analysis, Design, Build, and Deployment of Java applications and Microservices.
• A desire to continue to learn and pick up new technologies and skills.
