Sr. Java Developer (FTE / Hybrid / Onsite Interview Preferred)
About The Position
NTT DATA is seeking a Sr. Java Developer (FTE / Hybrid / Onsite Interview Preferred) to join their team in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. This role requires a strong foundation in software development, the ability to work in an Agile team, adaptability, a wide range of technical skills, and the capacity to understand financial services business requirements. The ideal candidate is a 'utility' programmer capable of quickly switching context and collaborating effectively with project managers, database engineers, technical operations, and other platform personnel. Requirements
- BS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or applicable programming area of study.
- 5+ years prior work experience working with an application development organization; must demonstrate experience delivering systems and projects from inception through implementation.
- 5+ years of experience in Java, Spring MVC and/or Spring Boot.
- 5+ years of experience in Database access methods and SQL constructs.
- Ability to work in an Agile team environment.
- Adaptable with a wide range of technical skills.
- Ability to understand financial services business requirements.
- Strong 'utility' type programmer with the ability to switch context quickly and efficiently.
- Candidates with active CPT, OPT, or OPT EAD status cannot be considered for this role.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with container-based deployments such as Kubernetes, Docker, Docker Compose, Vagrant is a plus.
- Understand Asynchronous and Synchronous messaging. Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, JMS, MDBs.
- Work experience with any of the following – PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Linux/UNIX Shell Programming, Python is a plus.
- Work experience in developing Web Applications with Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, CSS, HTML, Bootstrap is a plus.
- A minimum of 2 years’ work experience within Financial Services industry including banking, wealth management, investment management, asset data and investment processing is preferred.
- 3+ years of experience with Build & Deployment tools such as Maven, GIT, Terraform a plus.
Responsibilities
- Develop code based on reading and understanding business and functional requirements following the Agile process.
- Produce high-quality code to meet all project deadlines and ensure the functionality matches the requirements.
- Analyze and resolve issues found during the testing or pre-production phases of the software delivery lifecycle, coordinating changes with project team leaders and cross-work team members.
- Provide technical support to project team members and respond to inquiries regarding errors or questions about programs.
- Interact with architects, technical leads, team members and project managers as required to address technical and schedule issues.
- Suggest and implement process improvements for estimating development and testing processes.
- Demonstrated a commitment to quality, writing unit tests with Junit and Mockito.
- Proficiency in Analysis, Design, Build, and Deployment of Java applications and Microservices.
- A desire to continue to learn and pick up new technologies and skills.
