About The Position

The Sr. Java Developer supports the sustainment, correction, enhancement, testing, implementation, and technical documentation of FEMA’s eCAPS application. Works with the Sr. Java Developer, Project Manager, Business Analyst/Tester, FEMA technical personnel, and system stakeholders to maintain stable application operations and implement approved changes.

Requirements

• Experience supporting Java-based enterprise applications and associated development, testing, deployment, or sustainment activities.
• Experience with Java, Oracle databases, SQL, WebLogic, or comparable enterprise application technologies.
• Ability to analyze defects, implement approved corrections, conduct unit testing, and maintain technical documentation.
• Ability to comply with DHS/FEMA security, configuration management, records management, and Section 508 requirements.
• U.S. Citizenship or Green card holder

• Federal experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, correct, test, and document approved eCAPS software changes, enhancements, defect resolutions, and security remediations.
• Support Java/JDK, Oracle 19c, WebLogic, RHEL, FEIMS, SFS, and IFMIS-related application functions and interfaces.
• Conduct unit testing, maintain source code and configuration records, and support integration, user acceptance, performance, and security testing.
• Prepare or update design documents, test cases, system manuals, release materials, implementation plans, and training documentation.
• Support Tier III issue resolution, production releases, application monitoring, and optional disaster-response surge activities when authorized.
