About The Position

NTT DATA is currently seeking a Sr. Java Developer (FTE / Hybrid) to join their team in San Leandro, California. This role involves working with stakeholders to gather requirements, developing, testing, and deploying APIs, and writing tested, idiomatic, and documented Java code. The developer will cooperate with front-end developers, communicate with external web services, and ensure APIs are developed using industry-standard best practices. Responsibilities also include fixing issues, API logging, API testing, creating REST API documentation, and experience with TDD, unit testing, and CI/CD pipelines. The role requires experience in SQL and Stored Procedures, understanding requirements, dependencies, and timelines, estimating user stories, developing reusable components, and tracking progress using tools like JIRA. Experience with Unix, Linux, AWS, Scrum, Agile processes, Jira, Git/SVN, Jenkins, and DevOps is also expected. Extensive experience in Java 8, Spring Boot, microservices architecture, and knowledge of REST API design are crucial. Familiarity with microservices patterns, cloud implementations (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), Spring integration with messaging queues, and deployment tools like Docker and Kubernetes is required. Experience with RDBMS like DB2 and NoSQL databases like Cassandra, as well as CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Fortify, Sonar, and Blackduck, is also mentioned.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in development of RESTful APIs and Microservices using technology stack: Java/J2EE, Spring framework, Spring Batch, AWS Elastic Kubernetes Services (EKS), RDS Oracle DB, Apigee/API Gateway.

  • Experience in API logging, API testing, creating REST API documentation using Swagger and YAML or similar tools
  • Knowledge of Apigee, security aspects like TLS, MTLS, oAuth2, session management

Responsibilities

  • Work with stakeholder to gather the requirements
