Sr. Java Back-End Engineer
About The Position
We are urgently looking for a Java Back-end Engineer for our Direct client requirement. This is a 100% backend developer role with no big data involvement. The ideal candidate will have a strong Java development background, with a preference for both enterprise and startup experience. The role requires 7-8 years of experience in the field, with Java being a must. The position involves hands-on development of n-tier applications using RESTful Services, Java/J2EE, Oracle, and related technologies. Responsibilities include managing code and configurations for multiple environments, participating in the release management process, creating and maintaining environment configurations and controls, ensuring code integrity, and working closely with the platform team. The role also requires analyzing business requirements and artifacts of the scrum process, working in an agile development environment with quick turnaround times and iterative builds, leading the discovery phase of projects for high-level design, troubleshooting business and production issues, and ensuring business vision and industry trends are incorporated to drive business results. The engineer will also be responsible for problem-solving and troubleshooting design and development issues, providing appropriate solutions, communicating effectively with technical and non-technical teams, and providing guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. Knowledge of standard tools for optimizing and testing code is expected, along with a desire to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience programming in Java/J2EE, REST Services, and related technologies.
- Hands on Experience with Hibernate and SpringBoot.
- Hands on experience with RDBMS (Oracle), PL/SQL.
- Experience with no-sql technologies like Cassandra.
- Experience with distributed publish-subscribe messaging system like Kafka.
- Experience configuring & deploying applications on J2EE application server (Apache Tomcat, TomEE).
- Expertise in SaaS application development.
- Experience with UNIX shell and scripting.

Responsibilities

- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with technical and non-technical cross-functional teams.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to the junior engineers.
- Knowledge of standard tools for optimizing and testing code.
