About The Position

The Senior IT Specialist will serve as a Senior AVEVA/OSIsoft PI Administrator, supporting and enhancing the PI Data Historian infrastructure for Electric and Gas Control Center operations. The role covers architecture, administration, integration, support, and continuous improvement of a large-scale enterprise PI environment supporting critical operational systems. The environment includes approximately 1.5 million PI tags and supports Distribution Electric, Gas, and Steam Control Centers. This hybrid contract role is based in Manhattan, New York, with three onsite days (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) and two remote days (Monday and Friday). The position works in a highly available 24x7 operational environment and requires scheduled responses to alerts 24x7x365. The administrator will help maintain continuous PI Historian availability through enhancements, monitoring, troubleshooting, and alert response.

Requirements

Deep experience with AVEVA/OSIsoft PI System technologies and PI Data Historian environments.
Experience with high-availability infrastructure and operational technology integrations.
Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure, identify root causes, and maintain awareness of physical and cyber safety.
Programming skills with C#, .NET, Visual Studio, SSIS, API/adapter calls, SQL, Microsoft Power BI, and PowerShell.
Knowledge of ITIL processes and support activities; familiarity with ITIL tools such as ServiceNow.
Self-motivation and ability to learn quickly and independently.
Ability to manage projects with minimal supervision.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must be local to the Tri-State area.
Utilities experience is needed.
AVEVA/OSIsoft PI System Infrastructure and Developer Accreditation.

Responsibilities

Create, modify, and maintain the enterprise PI System, including an environment with approximately 1.5 million PI tags.
Implement high availability and disaster recovery for PI Data Archive, PI AF, and PI Vision.
Develop PI AF element templates and elements, analytics, notifications, and event frames.
Develop PI-based dashboards using PI Vision and ProcessBook.
Configure and support PI interfaces, including PI API, OPC DA/UA, RDBMS, PI to PI, and PI DNP3, as well as PI Integrator for Business Analytics.
Design, develop, and commission PI dashboards, BI reports, and custom applications using PI System access technologies such as PI SDK, AF SDK, PI OLEDB, and PowerShell.
Integrate enterprise business systems with AVEVA/OSIsoft PI software.
Support, maintain, architect, and develop PI Data Historian infrastructure for Distribution Electric, Gas, and Steam Control Centers.
Perform configuration, coding, and testing related to the PI Data Historian and Control Center applications.
Manage technical aspects of assigned projects, including planning and resolving application issues.
Respond to system alerts on a scheduled 24x7x365 basis to resolve issues and ensure application availability.
Maintain continuous availability of the OSI PI Historian by implementing system enhancements, monitoring server status, and responding to alerts.
Review and update procedures and disaster recovery documents related to PI Historian infrastructure and associated systems such as OMS and SCADA.
Apply ITIL processes and support practices, including use of ITIL tools such as ServiceNow.
Communicate project status, issues, key activities, charter changes, and resource conflicts to sponsors, stakeholders, and team members.
Provide detailed documentation of end-to-end solutions and develop and deliver effective presentations.
Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.
