About The Position

For this position, we are seeking a talented individual to join AIS as a Infrastructure Architect. As your initial project assignment, you will support the unique needs of our client as a Sr. Infrastructure Engineer. This position is based out of our Reston, VA office but eligible to work remotely within the United States. Project Summary: Utilize cloud, data, and infrastructure technologies to design, implement, and support complex enterprise solutions for global brands and federal agencies.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field and two (2) years of experience as software engineer or related.
  • Experience with designing/deploying Cloud infrastructure using reusable Terraform modules to provision kubernetes clusters, networking components, storage accounts, RBAC roles, and other Cloud services through terraform cloud for governance and automation.
  • Onboarding applications into kubernetes with Helm and GitOps (FluxCD).
  • Implementing Cloud IAM for secure pod-to-service authentication.
  • Building CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps for both infrastructure and application deployments.
  • Performing Cloud networking design, including VNets, private endpoints, DNS, Application Gateway, Front Door, and API management (APIM).
  • Deploying/maintaining multi-region workloads, testing failover, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Automating governance through Terraform Cloud and Azure DevOps.

Responsibilities

  • Architect scalable, resilient solutions; authors roadmaps and blueprints; integrates diverse components; advances automation (PowerShell/Python/Ansible) and governance/policy.
  • Leads architectural initiatives, establishes performance benchmarks, integrates systems at scale, researches emerging tech, and mitigates enterprise risk.
  • Ensures integrity, scalability, and cost/performance optimization; produces comprehensive design artifacts; sets and enforces standards with broad autonomy.
  • Leads architectural teams, builds strategic partnerships, institutionalizes knowledge management, and communicates designs and executive‑ready reports.
  • Delivers architectural consulting aligned to business strategy, proposes enterprise technologies, nurtures vendor alliances, and seeds new project opportunities.
  • Architect scalable and secure systems, develop and optimize data pipelines and stream applications to ensure high performance, reliability and data integrity.
