About The Position

Intel's Foundry Automation group is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer for Observability. In this role, you will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and managing enterprise Elastic, Logstash, Kibana environments. The role also involves managing various layered applications such as enterprise software, middleware, and security tools, ensuring they perform efficiently and securely in alignment with key initiatives driving towards Intel Foundry's success. You will bring expertise in automation to streamline processes and enhance the overall efficiency to infrastructure. The ideal candidate is a proactive engineer with experience managing complex projects to achieve organizational goals. Success in this role requires adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline, with 5+ years of experience in Observability, Monitoring and/or manageability of infrastructure engineering.
• 2+ years' experience with Elastic, Logstash, Kafka, and Kibana.
• 2+ years' experience with a scripting language (such as Powershell, vbs, c#, Bash etc.)
• This role is not eligible for Intel Immigration Sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

• Deep expertise in Elastic, Logstash, Kabana, System Center Operations Manager environments, including configuration, tuning, and support for various layered applications
• Proficiency in automation and scripting, particularly in Powershell, vbs, c#, Bash or Python (other scripting languages a plus), to streamline OS and application management
• Strong troubleshooting skills and experience in diagnosing issues across OS, middleware, enterprise applications, and security tools.
• Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of Elastic, Logstash, Kibana, Kafka and MS System Center Operations Manager (SCOM)
• Implement automation scripts (e.g., Bash, Python, Powershell, vbs, c#) to configure advanced observability scenarios and streamline repetitive tasks, maintain layered applications, data collection, system maintenance and improve system reliability
• Deploy, configure, and maintain Elasticsearch clusters for scalable log storage and search capabilities.
• Optimize Elasticsearch performance, manage indices, and implement data retention policies
• Design and implement Logstash pipelines for data ingestion, parsing, and transformation from multiple sources
• Create and maintain Kibana dashboards, visualizations, and alerts for real-time operational insights
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and availability across observability platforms
• Develop and maintain documentation for configurations, integrations, and troubleshooting steps related to observability stack
