As an Sr Industrial Engineer, you will be a driving force behind Lean culture adoption and execution across the site. You will combine deep expertise in CNC machining, heat treating, and brazing with advanced Industrial Engineering and Lean principles to create disciplined, data‑driven manufacturing systems. You will lead by influence, embedding Lean thinking into daily behaviors, standard work, and decision‑making—while delivering measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and inventory. Your work will directly enable scalable growth, operational excellence, and consistent execution across production and new product introductions.

Requirements

  • Strong hands‑on experience applying Lean manufacturing principles to build sustainable, site‑wide culture change.
  • Demonstrated success leading Kaizen events, value‑stream transformations, and continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing environments.
  • Working knowledge of CNC machining operations, including cycle time optimization, capacity analysis, and labor modeling.
  • Understanding of heat treating processes (batch and continuous flow, thermal cycles, furnace loading, quality impacts).
  • Familiarity with brazing processes, including labor content, material flow, and process variability.
  • Broad application of Industrial Engineering tools such as work measurement, simulation, facilities layout, workstation design, and operations research.
  • Strong financial, analytical, and data‑driven decision‑making skills.
  • Proven success influencing without authority and leading cross‑functional change.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills at all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Visio, Project, and AutoCAD.
  • 7+ years of progressive Industrial Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, with demonstrated ownership of complex, multi‑process operations.
  • Proven hands‑on experience supporting CNC machining, heat treating, and brazing processes, including cycle time analysis, capacity planning, labor standards, and cost optimization.
  • Demonstrated success leading Lean transformations at the site or value‑stream level, not just project execution.
  • Extensive experience driving Lean culture adoption, including facilitating Kaizen events, coaching leaders and operators, and embedding standard work and problem‑solving into daily operations.
  • Track record of delivering measurable, sustained results across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and inventory (SQDCI).
  • Experience partnering with Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Finance at a senior or leadership level.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement waste‑elimination projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and Industrial Engineering methodologies across CNC machining, heat treating, brazing, and assembly operations.
  • Serve as a Lean culture champion, driving consistent application of: Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Kaizen events, 5S and Visual Management, Problem‑solving (A3, root cause analysis).
  • Apply complex process simulation, operations research, and cost modeling to improve capacity, flow, labor efficiency, and capital utilization in precision manufacturing environments.
  • Analyze and optimize CNC machine utilization, tooling strategies, furnace loading, thermal cycles, brazing takt times, and end‑to‑end material flow.
  • Verify and standardize time standards for machining, thermal processing, and joining operations across the IE team.
  • Develop, track, and report key IE and Lean metrics (OEE, labor productivity, lead time, cost, yield) for assigned value streams or customers.
  • Drive process mapping and future‑state design for complex, multi‑process manufacturing flows (machining → heat treat → braze → assembly).
  • Lead standardization of SAP and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) configurations to ensure accurate routings, labor standards, and data integrity.
  • Prepare detailed cost models and manufacturing quotes for new programs and change requests.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by defining Lean manufacturing strategies, equipment requirements, layouts, and staffing models.
  • Coach, mentor, and train engineers and cross‑functional partners on Lean principles, IE tools, and structured problem‑solving.
  • Ensure standardization of Jabil processes in alignment with global Lean and operational excellence strategies.
  • Partner with Operations and Lean teams to sustain improvements and prevent process regression.
  • Support lower‑level IE responsibilities as needed.
  • Comply with all company safety, quality, and security procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
