About The Position

The Sr. HVAC Field Technician is the primary service and maintenance contact for Trane Technologies customers in a defined market, serving commercial customers such as healthcare facilities, process manufacturing facilities, educational institutions, and office complexes. The technician commissions, troubleshoots, repairs, and starts up commercial HVAC systems, applying knowledge of air-conditioning theory, pipe fitting, and mechanical layouts. The role includes work with internal and external partners on new facility setups and existing-facility retrofits. It is field-based, with work conducted on-site at customer locations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Typically 10 or more years of HVAC experience.
• Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and working proficiency with a handheld computer such as a smartphone or iPad.
• Valid driver's license held for at least 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations, including the listed violations, or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous three years.
• EPA Universal Certification.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the team leader or project manager and the customer to understand on-site installation and repair requirements, forecast issues, gather materials, and synchronize on-site work.
• Serve as the direct customer contact and take responsibility for products and equipment on assigned projects.
• Identify, diagnose, and repair equipment and systems at customer locations to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Use software, technology, and hand tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units.
• Maintain flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and occasional overnight stays as business needs require.
• Enforce safety standards and maintain security and accountability for company-issued and procured assets by recording use, wear, and condition.
