About The Position

Garrett Advancing Motion is a leader in automotive powertrain technologies with over 60 years of experience. We are seeking a Senior HR Generalist to support all U.S. locations, based in our Plymouth, Michigan facility. This role will provide leadership and coaching in HR strategies, processes, and day-to-day support to key business leaders, partnering with global HR Business Partners. The Senior HR Generalist will also drive and support HR functional initiatives across the U.S. The position offers a hybrid work schedule: 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 – 7 years of full cycle HR experience, including recruitment, OR MBA / Master’s degree in HR or Labor Relations and 3+ years HR experience.
  • Proven ability to communicate and operate in a complex global matrixed environment through virtual and face-to-face interactions.
  • Ability to network effectively within and without the HR community.
  • Working knowledge of HR, including CA state law.
  • Experience leading projects within various HR disciplines.
  • Ability to coach and develop leaders.
  • Analytical skills to rationalize business concepts and translate them into usable data.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Support and provide leadership for HR activities and initiatives for the business in the U.S.
  • Provide a broad range of HR services including strategic HR plan development, talent management, organization effectiveness, and employee engagement.
  • Partner with the HRIS team to implement and administer HR software systems (HRIS, payroll, 401(k), benefits administration, performance evaluation).
  • Lead onboarding and offboarding process and procedures.
  • Partner with the benefits analyst to process leave-related absences and ensure compliance with laws.
  • Lead employee relations, including feedback processes, grievances, and other issues.
  • Partner with the business to ensure employee engagement and achievement of business objectives.
  • Provide functional expertise and tactical support to managers in staffing, compensation, global mobility, immigration, and performance management.
  • Facilitate solutions to employee and leadership issues, implement policies, and coach leaders.
  • Coach managers on personal effectiveness, employee relations, and organizational dynamics.
  • Champion an environment that encourages learning and employee development.
  • Work with HR center of excellence to accomplish the HR mission.
  • Manage the full cycle recruitment process, partnering with leaders on onboarding new colleagues.
  • Liaise with recruitment firms for specific positions.
  • Develop and implement creative sourcing strategies to attract talent.
  • Build strategic pipelines and maintain a network of prospects.
  • Support University candidate attraction strategies and drive talent mobility.
  • Propose continuous improvement ideas within Talent Acquisition and support ongoing initiatives.
  • Organize company's participation in external hiring events.
