About The Position

We are seeking a highly experienced and versatile Sr. HR Generalist with focus in Leave Administration & Employee Relations to join our dynamic Human Resources team. In this critical role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring an exceptional employee experience by expertly managing and administering leave, return-to-work, worker’s compensation, and ADA programs with compassion and compliance. Simultaneously, you will build and maintain strong relationships across all levels of the organization, providing guidance on company policies, employment law, and conflict resolution, all while championing a diverse and inclusive multicultural work environment. You will serve as a key point of contact for employees and leaders, providing expert consultation and support on a wide range of HR matters, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and fostering a positive work environment. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) is required, preferably in Human Resources or related field, will also consider an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in leave administration programs and employee relations, with a comprehensive knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in handling complex employee relations cases, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Proficiency in the administration of FMLA and ADA is a requirement.
  • Must demonstrate exceptional customer service skills and adapt seamlessly to the dynamic demands of a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are essential, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to manage difficult conversations and sensitive situations with empathy, discretion, and professionalism, building trust and credibility.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and effectively solve complex problems with practical, legally sound, and business-focused solutions.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a strong attention to detail and effective prioritization in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a sense of urgency and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel (Power BI a plus), Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • SHRM, CPDM, or comparable certification is strongly preferred.
  • Experience using an HRIS such as SAP is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and administer all types of leave of absence (FMLA, short-term disability, long-term disability, etc.), ensuring timely responses to employee inquiries and needs.
  • Communicate effectively with employees and management regarding leave policies, procedures, and status.
  • Partner with key stakeholders such as the Health and Safety team, onsite Physical Therapist, and Payroll to ensure seamless leave management.
  • Lead and facilitate the interactive process for ADA accommodation requests, working collaboratively with employees and supervisors to identify reasonable accommodations.
  • Develop and maintain strong, trusting relationships with employees, managers, and the executive team.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact and expert consultant for employees and leaders on employee relations matters, company policies, and employment law.
  • Interpret and apply company policies and procedures consistently, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal and state employment laws.
  • Conduct thorough and timely investigations into complex Human Resources-related issues (e.g., harassment, discrimination, policy violations, grievances) to ensure legal, fair, and effective resolutions.
  • Provide expert coaching and guidance to supervisors and managers on employee discipline, performance management, and effective communication of policies and procedures.
  • Proactively address and resolve complex employee relations issues, including disciplinary actions, grievances, conflict resolution, and performance management, ensuring compliance and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Mediate and facilitate conflict resolution between employees and/or managers, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Proactively identify and address employee relations issues, promoting a culture of respect and understanding in a diverse multicultural setting.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of HR policies and procedures related to employee relations and leave management, ensuring they are current, compliant, and effective.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions to managers and supervisors on leave administration, ADA compliance, employee relations best practices, and consistent application of company policies.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee health records and Employee Relations files.
  • Engage with important internal and external partners to achieve HR and organizational objectives.
