About The Position

Partner Engineering & Science has an exciting opportunity for a creative and motivated HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team. This full-time exempt role is onsite in Torrance and will be responsible for providing generalist, recruiting and organizational support to the HR and Talent Acquisition teams. They will serve as a partner to leaders on human resources-related issues, including employee relations and be a champion and change agent for the very best working experience for all employees.

  • Skilled in database management and record keeping.
  • Ability to aggregate and present findings in concise manner (e.g. via Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with customer service orientation.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of HR experience including general HR, Employee Relations, workers compensation, leaves and talent acquisition experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, emphasis in Human Resources preferred.
  • Proficiency in HRIS software a must, UKG Software a plus.
  • Must have intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Experience with virtual collaboration tools (MS Teams preferred).

Nice To Haves

  • PHR or SPHR preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of all Federal and state employment laws and related legislation including ADA, EEOC, FMLA, ADEA, OSHA and the Guidelines on Employee Selection. If candidate does not have extensive experience in this area, they must be passionate about learning.

Responsibilities

  • Support global HR initiatives and programs led by the Chief People Officer, and HRBPs work with the HR and Talent Acquisition teams, as well as Legal.
  • Build and maintain solid relationships with leaders and employees to create a culture employees will love.
  • Thoughtfully engage with employees on general queries about compensation, career frameworks, internal mobility, and employee relation issues.
  • Support workers compensation and leaves of absence.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly and annual HR reports as needed.
  • Perform routine administrative tasks to ensure HR processes are completed accurately, and on time, and in accordance with established HR business processes.
  • Assist with on-boarding new hires, including offer letter processing, new hire orientation facilitation, processing benefits and new hire paperwork.
  • Periodically audit database and reports to ensure accuracy.
  • Support employee relations and act as point of contact for HR related questions. Obtain HR Business Partner involvement to assist with investigations, review findings, and resolve issues.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legislation pertaining to employee files, hiring and personnel matters, company policies and reporting requirements.
  • Process employee changes in a timely manner.
  • Support HR and Ops team on other company-wide efforts including learning & development and event facilitation (new hire summits, morale events, etc.)
  • Execute programs to develop/retain top talent including Partner Pals program.
  • Execute talent management and development strategies to support organization’s growth.
  • Execute performance management and compensation cycles.
  • Support company-wide full life-cycle recruitment by screening/interviewing talent for their areas of responsibility.
  • Perform additional tasks & projects as needed.
  • This role will generally follow California work hours but may require off-schedule hours as needed.
