We're looking for an experienced Senior HR Business Partner to serve as a trusted advisor and strategic leader supporting three manufacturing plants and a distribution center. Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Oversees payroll and timekeeping processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Supervises and trains Timekeeping staff, developing training materials and coordinating refresher courses.
  • Conducts regular audits of departments to ensure correct information in the timekeeping system and prevent fraud.
  • Assists Timekeepers/Clerks with troubleshooting and auditing.
  • Performs repairs or replacements for time clocks and system issues.
  • Ensures proper handling of garnishments, levies, and other payroll deductions.
  • Oversees the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), including monitoring, maintenance, and report generation.
  • Supervises Human Resources Clerks and manages master file changes for exempt employees and staff.
  • Manages database design and creation for HR information, including FMLA and ADA databases.
  • Generates reports from HRIS for Affirmative Action, wage surveys, Vets 100 Form, and other requirements.
  • Performs complicated and confidential HR duties.
  • Assists the Human Resources Director in advising and counseling supervisors on grievances, policy questions, discipline, and other HR matters.
  • Receives and acts on employee issues, handling grievances, problems, and concerns promptly and fairly.
  • Undertakes HR projects requiring extensive planning and research.
  • Stays familiar with federal and state regulations and compliance requirements affecting HR functions.
  • Performs employment activities such as reference checking, interview arrangement, testing, and writing rejection letters.
  • Assists with general HR activities like employee surveys, meetings, and special events.
  • Oversees wellness activities and programs with contracted Plant Nurses and serves on the wellness committee.
  • Coordinates with Safety and Security Supervisor and Company Nurse on safety issues and workstation modifications.
  • Serves on the first shift Safety Committee and participates in discussions and activities.
  • Manages reception area and switchboard functions, supervising staff and activities.
  • Manages vending areas through outside contractors, ensuring adequate selection, reasonable prices, and acceptable service.
  • Supervises the main lunchroom and vending area.
  • Oversees the uniform rental program.
  • Assists the Human Resources Director with compensation projects, including data collection, NPEP point proposals, and salary survey responses.
  • Maintains operational areas in a safe and sanitary manner, ensuring compliance with safety rules and company policy.
  • Performs duties of subordinates or the Human Resources Director in their absence.
  • Participates in community relations activities and civic/professional organizations.
  • Coordinates with other departments to ensure cooperation and timely project completion.
  • Operates own or company vehicle for job duties.
  • Uses personal computer for various job tasks.
  • Ensures proper selection, training, evaluation, discipline, and communication with employees.
  • Participates in training, employee meetings, committees, and project teams as appropriate.
