About The Position

Cockroach Labs is seeking a Senior HR Business Partner to join their People team. This role will serve as a strategic partner, aligning talent and business objectives by supporting the GTM (Go-To-Market) organization. The HR Business Partner will collaborate with managers and leaders to provide both hands-on and strategic input on various HR functions including employee relations, performance management, coaching, compensation, conflict management, organizational development, and training. The ideal candidate is proactive, comfortable driving initiatives, and thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of experience required; preferred experience working in a fast-moving, high-growth organization
  • 5 years of experience working with managers and leaders in an HRBP or People Partner capacity; preference for candidates with experience supporting go-to-market organizations
  • Relevant experience building and improving company culture and increasing employee engagement, and expertise in performance management
  • Experience building and maintaining relationships with managers and leaders while influencing across multiple organizational layers
  • A track record of strategic partnering with business leaders on multi-year company or org-wide people initiatives
  • Experience demonstrating judgment and integrity in sensitive situations
  • Superb communication skills, including effective facilitation, listening and writing
  • Knowledge of HR programs and practices, including applicable state and federal employment laws and regulations

Responsibilities

  • Partner with managers and leaders to translate business objectives into people-related requirements and represent the People Team within the GTM organization.
  • Lead HR programs and processes such as performance management and annual reviews, providing HR expertise to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Coach and advise leaders on key people matters, including team cohesion, individual development, and organizational design.
  • Support leaders through organizational changes, including restructuring, role evolution, and workforce planning.
  • Develop multi-year people strategies and design approaches to enhance organizational effectiveness and employee satisfaction.
  • Analyze employee reports (compensation, job levels, attrition) to guide decision-making and provide proactive solutions.
  • Collaborate with the HRBP Team on value-added programs in training, development, career mobility, and job performance.
  • Maintain foundational knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Champion and accelerate a culture of excellence, engagement, and inspiration within the organization.
