About The Position

The Sr Histotechnologist (Grossing) leads laboratory operations across multiple technical disciplines with confidence and minimal supervision. The role performs routine and complex analytic procedures, preparing human tissue samples, body fluids, and cultured cells for histological examination using manual techniques and laboratory instruments. The position also teaches routine and specialized laboratory techniques, promotes consistent adherence to standard work practices, participates in applied research and development projects, helps onboard team members and assess their competencies, and supports quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, including at least 30 semester hours of biology and chemistry combined.
• Three years of experience with progressive responsibility in a CAP-accredited histology laboratory setting.
• Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) as a Histology Technologist (HTL).

Nice To Haves

• For Sr. Histotechnologist in Immunohistochemistry, ASCP Qualification in Immunohistochemistry (QIHC) is preferred.
