The opportunity to improve health on a global scale stands before us. Meet the team: The Dexcom R&D Electronics Team is a highly skilled group focused on designing high-volume medical wearables. We specialize in low-power, battery-operated systems, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), and ultra-sensitive sensing technologies that meet rigorous medical standards. The team supports current products, drives continuous improvements, and develops new technologies to expand Dexcom’s impact in diabetes care. This position will require you to be on-site daily.

Requirements

  • Must be an excellent communicator both verbally and in written form.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with troubleshooting wearable electronic devices.
  • Experience with current draw analysis, RF testing, temperature chamber and profile programming, electronics debug and electronics reworks.
  • Medical device development experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of electronic test and debug experience.
  • Experience in design-for-reliability (DFR), design-for-test (DFT), design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-cost (DFC) practices for very high-volume products.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within R&D Electronics Team to evaluate electronics designs and different battery vendors.
  • Demonstrate expertise in electronics testing, troubleshooting and rework.
  • Demonstrate precise rework skills.
  • Experience in board cleanliness, 0201 reworks and cut trace with flying lead reworks.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, spectrum analyzers and current analyzers.
  • Define and report out on plans and analysis results to cross functional teams.
  • Work with the engineering team to troubleshoot, provide analysis and report findings.
  • Occasionally be required to support special rework or manufacturing steps to enable manufacturing of devices.
