About The Position

HumanWare is an industry leader in assistive technology, developing solutions for people with visual impairments. The Senior Hardware Designer will contribute to the development of new products and related activities within the Research and Development - Hardware department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or electronic engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 10 years of experience in circuit design and embedded systems development
  • Proficiency in electronic design software (Altium is considered an asset)
  • Strong interest in new technologies
  • Knowledge and experience in project management (asset)
  • Recognized for teamwork and ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic and high-pressure environment
  • Strong analytical mindset, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Structured, dynamic, and autonomous, adaptable to change, rigorous, and driven by innovation

Nice To Haves

  • Altium is considered an asset
  • Knowledge and experience in project management

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements the electronic circuits of new products
  • Documents the design
  • Participates in electronic and mechanical design reviews
  • Works with the low-level software team to bring up electronic boards and battery management algorithms
  • Develops test plans to ensure production quality
  • Follows up with Humanware’s development partners
  • Oversees product certification work
  • Ensures the transfer of new products to production
  • Collaborates with production on product maintenance
  • Contributes to the execution of Engineering Change Requests
